Whether the physician should prescribe the drug thalidomide at the first trimester of pregnancy to a female.

Concept introduction:

Pregnancy is also termed as gestation period. There are three trimesters during pregnancy. The first trimester starts from the first day of pregnancy till week 12^th (nearly 3 months). The second trimester begins with week 13^th and ends till week 27^th. The final trimester begins with week 28^th and ends till the birth of the baby.
