Introduction:
Less effort is required to lift a rock on the Moon as compared to that on the Earth. This is because the gravitational field of the Moon is one-sixth gravitational field of the Earth.
When the rock is thrown horizontally, there is no effect of the gravitational force. Acceleration due to gravity acts vertically downwards always, so it does not affect horizontal motion.
