• Include the reader header files in the program
• Define the “CSVReader” class
  • Declare the private variable
  • Define the constructor
    • Create an object “rows” for “ArrayList”
    • In the “try” block, create an object for “Scanner” class
      • Add the lines in the “rows” object
    • In the “catch” block, display an error message
  • Define the “numberOfRows” method
    • Return the number of rows
  • Define the “numberOfFields” method
    • Check “row” is less than 0 or greater than equal to size of the “rows”
      • Throw an “IllegalArgumentException”

  • Define the “getFields” method
    • Create an object for “Scanner” class

    • Trim the string using the “trim ()” method
    • Check the starting letter is “\”
      • Check the ending letter is “\”
        • Append the comma-separated fields
        • • Remove quotes
    • Replace all the “\\” to “\”
    • Add the “field” to the “fields” variable
    • Return the value
  • Define the “field” method
    • Check “row” is less than 0 or greater than equal to size of the “rows”
      • Throw an “IllegalArgumentException”
    • Check “column” is less than 0 or greater than equal to “numberOfFields (rows)”
      • Throw an “IllegalArgumentException”
    • Return the value
