The condition that would result in the fracture of the superior articular facet of the atlas.
Introduction:
The vertebral column is also known as the spinal column or spine. The first two cervical vertebrae contain the atlas and the axis. The size of the atlas and the axis is bigger and stronger than the other five cervical vertebrae because these parts support the head and control its movement. The articular facet is the actual region of contact between the two bones. There are two right and left and two superior and inferior articular facets.
