Comparison on the method of operation of different switches:

Based on the operational point of view, switches are divided into three types as follows:

• Manually operated switch
• Mechanically operated switch
• Proximity switch

Manually operated switch	Mechanically operated switch	Proximity switch
Manually operated switches are controlled by hand.	Mechanically operated switches are automatically controlled by parameters such as pressure, position, or temperature.	Proximity switches does not need any physical contact to sense the presence or absence of a target.
