Interpretation:
Given names formulas are to be written.
Rb2SO4 (rubidium, Z = 37), P2O5, Zinc phosphide, cesium nitrate (cesium, Z = 55)
Concept introduction:
The chemical compounds are made up of polyatomic ions and the ratio of positive to negative ions present in the substance is expressed as formula of ionic compound. Usually, the number of each kind of atom which makes up the particle generally called as the composition, is denoted by the chemical formula. The elements are found as single atom particles in the universe. Few elements form monoatomic ions having different charges. To differentiate the two ions, size of the charge of ions is included when naming the ion. Conversely, for group 1A, 2A, 5A-7A elements the charge is not included while naming the ion.

You can start with an alkane of any carbon length with any number of leaving groups attached or with a alkoxide of any carbon length (conjugate base of an alcohol). Show each step and and explanation for each reaction. Also include why the reagents and solvents were picked and what other products can be expected.arrow_forward
