Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The reaction quotient for the reaction 2A+B2C+D has to be stated.

Concept introduction: The ratio of partial pressures of products and reactants is termed as the reaction quotient.  At equilibrium, the reaction quotient becomes equal to the equilibrium constant.  If the reaction quotient is greater than the equilibrium constant, the reaction moves in the backward direction.  If the reaction quotient is less than the equilibrium constant, the reaction moves in a forward direction.
