Introduction:
Liliana was admitted to the hospital for her broken shinbone and knee joint. The shinbone had a laceration of about 3.5 cm (centimeter). Along with the fracture, a nutrientartery of the shinbone was also damaged. The injured knee showed signs of swelling, inflammation, and pain. Her fracture was treated with open (internal) reduction method, which used pins and wires to bind the bone ends at the joint.
