Interpretation:
The inadequacies of Bohr’s theory are to be discussed.
Concept introduction:
Bohr’s theory states that an electron is allowed to occupy fixed orbits of specific energies. It postulated that radiation is emitted by an energized hydrogen atom when an electron drops from higher energy state to lower energy state, giving up a photon in the form of energy. Energy is absorbed when an electron moves from the ground state to the excited state, and energy is released when an electronmakes a transition from higher energy state to lower energy state.
