To draw: The environmental impact of using glass bottles and aluminium bottles.
Introduction: The way in which the production of a product takes place or a service is provided to the consumers is known as process planning. It helps in determining from where the components of production will be arranged. The process planning also helps in documentation and development of specification for manufacturing and delivery purpose.
Explanation of Solution
Using glass bottles as packaging leads to harmful impact on the environment. Glass bottles emits GHG gas in the environment that leads to greenhouse effect and depletion of ozon layer. On the other hand, the cost of manufacturing for using glass bottles will be low that will increase the efficiency in production.
Using aluminium bottles as packaging will have low consiquences on the environment as there will be low emission of GHG gas. The cost of production will be high in the case of aluminium.

- Consider a manufacturer of perfume who is about to expand production capacity to make a new product. Three alternative production processes are available. The following table shows the estimated profits (in $) for these processes for each of the three possible demand levels for the product. Alternatives States of Nature Low demand Moderate demand High demand A 100,000 350,000 900,000 B 150,000 400,000 700,000 C 250,000 400,000 600,000 Based on the above information, what would be the amount of regret, if alternative production process B is selected by the manufacturer and suppose that the level of demand turns out to be low?arrow_forwardManufacturing Cycle Efficiency Waymouth Manufacturing operates a contract manufacturingplant located in Dublin, Ireland. The plant provides a variety of electronics products and components to consumer goods manufacturers around the world. Cycle time is a critical success factorfor Waymouth, which has developed a number of measures of manufacturing speed. Waymouthhas studied the matter and found that competitive contract manufacturers have manufacturing cycleefficiency (MCE) of about 40%. When last calculated, Waymouth’s MCE was 35%.Key measures from the recent month’s production, averaged over all the jobs during that period, are as follows:[LO 13-2]Activity Average Time (hours)New product development 30Materials handling 2Order setup 6Machine maintenance 3Order scheduling 1Inspection of completed order 5Pack and move to storage or ship 2Manufacturing assembly 24Order taking and checking 3Receiving and stocking raw materials 6Inspection of raw materials at start of production 2Required…arrow_forwardBased on the case study below, In what way would unmet guarantees affect HP CSR.arrow_forward
- Make a recommendation Describe the potential limitations of the recommended solution and what to monitor to ensure it will be successfully implemented.arrow_forwardThe Colonial House Furniture Company manufactures two-drawer oak file cabinets that are sold unassembled through catalogs. The company initiates production of 488 cabinet packages each week. The percentage of good-quality cabinets averages 84% per week, and the percentage of poor-quality cabinets that can be reworked is 64%. If the direct manufacturing cost per cabinet is $78 and the rework cost is $38, what is the manufacturing cost per good product? (Round your answer to 2 decimal places, e.g. 35.50) Manufacturing cost per good product = $ per cabinetarrow_forward79) Which of the following best describes the benefit of Balanced Scorecard? a) The Balanced Scorecard guarantees a firm financial success for its shareholders and employees. b) The balanced Scorecard guards against the sub -optimization of individual functions by providing a holistic view of different operational measures. c) The balanced scorecard ensures that a firms product strategy is leading the market. d) The balanced scorecard protects the firm from having over-reaching government regulations.arrow_forward
- In the United States, each person uses about 100 gallons of water per day at home. This includes typical direct uses of water such as toilet flushing, showering, and watering the lawn. However, including indirect use of water from our diet, transportation, and products purchased, the average American lifestyle consumes about 2,000 gallons of water a day per capita. Your water footprint calculation is 1,897 gallons/day.For this task: Submit a list of changes (both direct and indirect use of water) you are willing to make to conserve water or justify why if no changes are needed.arrow_forwardWhich foodservice system(s) should be considered in each of the following situations ? a. Fixed costs are $14,000. Current sales volume is 30,000 units. The firm can substantially improve the product quality by adding a new piece of equipment at an additional fixed cost of $6,000. Variable costs would increase to $ 60, but sales volume should jump to 50,000 units due to a higher-quality product Should Audio Cables buy the new equipment?arrow_forward
- 2) BAQARAH Milk is fresh cow’s milk from Bangladesh’s first industrial hi-tech dairy farm which is equipped with the most advanced technology for milking cows and processing milk. All the cows are purebred Holstein Friesian from Australia. The farm ensures that milk is hygienically produced without human touch from milking to packing. It is instantly pasteurized to preserve the milk quality.
