Introduction:

The reef covers are important because they provide the habitat to several other organisms. Due to environmental pollution, the reefs tend to develop very slowly and are incapable to contribute to the reef building. The rugosity of the reefs also gets affected by the calcification process of the reef. The rugosity is dependent upon the calcification. The presence of corals, increase the calcification process of reefs, which also increase its rugosity.
