Introduction:

Root nodules are found on the roots of the leguminousplants, such as soy, beans, peas, and alfalfa. They are small swelling on theroots, and each contains billions of nitrogen-fixing bacteria, such asrhizobium. The atmospheric nitrogen is converted into ammonium ions through thesebacteria used by plants easily for their growth.
