Introduction: The phospholipid bilayer is arranged in the form of leaflets arranged such that polar heads are directed towards the outside and the hydrophobic tail is hidden towards the inside. The phospholipid layer provides both fluidity and rigidity to the membrane and is responsible for the selective permeability of the membrane.
