A molecule has a plane of symmetry; it can be bisected in such a way that one half of the molecule is the mirror imae of the other half. If a molecule has at least one plane of symmetry, then its mirror image is the same as itself, and the molecule is said to be achiral.
A plane of symmetry is represented as a dashed line that bisects the molecule into two equal halves.
