Which patient has more chances of contracting infection among one who has cut his finger with knife, or the one who has stepped on a nail?

Introduction:

 Infection occurs when any microorganism such as bacteria penetrates the skin and is able to divide inside the skin. Symptoms of an infection may or may not occur based on the type of microorganism that caused the infection.
