Introduction: Genome refers to the total genetic material present in an entity- an organism, a species, or a cell. It can be either DNA or RNA. The ability of the cell to maintain high degree of the accuracy of genetic information come from fidelity of genomic replication. The

Answer to Problem 1P
Correct answer: The statement is false.
Explanation of Solution
All cells of human body are derived by divisions of a single celled zygote (a fertilized egg cell). Thus, DNA present in every cell of a multicellular organism like human is identical in nucleotide sequence. Depending whether the cell is haploid (gametes-egg and sperm) or diploid (somatic cells), the genome is present as a single set of chromosomes or double sets of chromosomes. The gene expression and regulation differ between various cell and tissue types, and causes difference in their functions. However, the genome is same in all the cells.
Hence, the statement is false.
