Prime Numbers
A prime number is a number that is only evenly divisible by itself and 1. For example, the number 5 is prime because it can only be evenly divided by 1 and 5. The number 6, however, is not prime because it can be divided evenly by 1, 2, 3, and 6.
Write a Boolean function named is_prime which takes an integer as an argument and returns true if the argument is a prime number, or false otherwise. Use the function in a
Recall that the % operator divides one number by another and returns the remainder of the division. In an expression such as num1 % num2 , the % operator will return 0 if num1 is evenly divisible by num2.

- (Numerical) Write a program that tests the effectiveness of the rand() library function. Start by initializing 10 counters to 0, and then generate a large number of pseudorandom integers between 0 and 9. Each time a 0 occurs, increment the variable you have designated as the zero counter; when a 1 occurs, increment the counter variable that’s keeping count of the 1s that occur; and so on. Finally, display the number of 0s, 1s, 2s, and so on that occurred and the percentage of the time they occurred.arrow_forwardFunction Name: leapYear Parameters: year – an nonnegative integer representing the year Test Cases: >>>leapYear(1996) The year 1996 is a leap year. Enjoy your extra day! >>>leapYear(1901) The year 1901 is not a leap year. Description: Write a function which calculates whether or not a given year is a leap year and has 366 days instead of 365. A general algorithm is as follows: 1. A year will be a leap year if it is divisible by 4 but not by 100. 2. If a year is divisible by 4 and by 100, it is not a leap year unless it is also divisible by 400. Years such as 1996, 1992, 1988 and so on are leap years because they are divisible by 4 but not by 100. For century years, the 400 rule is important. Century years (ex: 1900, 1800, 1700) are exactly divisible by 4 AND exactly divisible by 100. They are not divisible by 400 and are thus not leap years. You fuction should print out "The year XXXX is a leap year. Enjoy your extra day!" if the year XXXX is a leap year. Print "The…arrow_forwardPredefined Function: ceil(), floor(), rand(), srand0 1. - Convert radians into degrees Write a function in Python that accepts one numeric parameter. This parameter will be the measure of an angle in radians. The function should convert the radians into degrees and then return that value.arrow_forwardQuestions: Computer-Assisted Instruction) The use of computers in education is referred to as computer- assisted instruction (CAI). Write a program that will help an elementary school student learn multiplication. Use the rand function to produce two positive one-digit integers. The program should then prompt the user with a question, such as How much is 6 times 7? The student then inputs the answer. Next, the program checks the student’s answer. If it’s correct, display the message "Very good!" and ask another multiplication question. If the answer is wrong, display the message "No. Please try again." and let the student try the same question repeatedly until the student finally gets it right. A separate function should be used to generate each new question. This function should be called once when the application begins execution and each time the user answers the question correctly. - None easy code Write a function that accept integer values for day, month and year and return them in valid format. If day is above 30, then it convert day to 30. If month is above 12 then it convert month to 12. Similarly if day or month is below 1 then it converts them to 1. Finally it ensures that the years are between 2000 and 2014. If all inputs are valid then it returns true else it returns false. Write a program that prompts user to input day, month and year. The program then validates them using the function written above and displays validate if all the input are valid. Otherwise the program displays invalid and the corrected values input returned by thearrow_forwardCyclops numbersdef is_cyclops(n):A nonnegative integer is said to be a cyclops number if it consists of an odd number of digits so that the middle (more poetically, the “eye”) digit is a zero, and all other digits of that number are nonzero. Fractional scores, such as 8.3, are allowed. A performer's final score is determined by dropping the highest and lowest score received, then averaging the 3 remaining scores. Write a program that uses these rules to calculate and display a contestant's score. It should include the following functions: -getJudgeData() should ask the use for a judge's score, store in a parameter variable, and validate it. This function should be called by main program once for each of the 5 judges. -calcScore(score1, score2, score3, score4, score5) should calculate and return the average of the 3 scores that remain after dropping the highest and lowest scores the performer received. This function should be called just once by main and should be passed the 5 scores.
