Chapter 5, Problem 17P
Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

A sketch should be drawn to show the reaction between hydrogen gas and oxygen gas to form steam at Chemistry For Changing Times (14th Edition), Chapter 5, Problem 17P

Concept Introduction:

During a chemical reaction, the mass of the reactants is always equal to the mass of the products according to the law of conservation of mass. Thus, the chemical reaction showing in the chemical equation needs to be balanced. When the number of the atoms of an element involved in the products side is equal to that of the respective element in the reactants side this will result in a balanced chemical equation.
