Chapter 48.4, Problem 2CC
Summary Introduction
To determine: The mechanism or adaptations for the members of the Channichthyidae family to survive without the oxygen reservoir provided by hemoglobin.
Introduction: Gases such as oxygen are soluble in the blood of the animals. However, the amount of dissolved gases in the blood is not sufficient for the survival of most of the animals. There are oxygen-binding proteins which bind to the oxygen and increase the total reservoir of oxygen in the body.
