To examine: The similar events occurring in human males and females.

Introduction: Meiosis is a type of cell division that occurs in reproductive cells. This results in formation of four daughter cells. The meiotic process is called reductional division because it generates haploid cells that have half the chromosome number to that of parent cell. In this process, four daughter cells are produced, but only one form egg cell and the other three daughter cells degenerate. Sperm production also occurs by meiosis, but unlike in females four daughter spermatids are formed. Meiosis in male reproductive cell is complete once started, but in female reproductive cells meiosis gets interrupted.
