Concept introduction:

Cell cycle specific drugs are used to treat several solid and circulating tumors. Though, some drugs are specific to some types of cancers. Cell cycle specific drugs include antimetabolite, alkaloid topoisomerase II inhibitors, topoisomerase I inhibitors, mitotic inhibitors, and antineoplastic enzymes. Cell cycle nonspecific drugs can kill cancer cells at any phase of the cell cycle; these drugs include anthracyclins and alkylating antineoplastic agent.
