Introduction:

Epithelial tissue (epithelium) is composed of tightly packed cells with almost no intercellular spaces. Epithelial tissue is named on the basis of the number of cell layers (simple, pseudostratified, or stratified) and the shape of the cells (squamous, columnar or cuboidal).
