Introduction:

The nervous tissue is composed of two specialized cell types: neurons (basic unit of a nervous system) and neuroglia or glial cells (supporting cells). There are six different types of neuroglia found in the nervous system. The four types are found in the central nervous system and the remaining two in the peripheral nervous system.
