A research group is interested in studing the “psychological impacts of sexual abuse in young adults”. They plan to conduct one-on-one interviews with individuals who have been sexually abused as children. The research group has put together an excellent application packet for IRB, however they have not included a consent form. The authors believe that they do not need to use consent forms for this study as most of the individuals are patients/ clients at their medical practice. In your understanding, does this proposed study need a consent form??

In addition, it must be possible to execute the proposed study. Do you think this rules out observational studies as "ethical?" Choose all that apply. In general, observational studies can be considered ethical because an observational study draws inferences from a sample to a population where the independent variable is under the control of the researcher because of ethical concerns or logistical constraints. most observational clinical studies are not ethically sensitive and ethics committee screening is usually not required for these studies. the personal information of the subjects being observed is usually recorded. the outcome of observational studies can…arrow_forward1) In general how many interviews should be included in a qualitative study?A.
