Concept introduction:

Vaginal candidiasis is an infection caused by yeast. The enormous growth of the yeast is seen in the vaginal region resulting in irritation. This infection mostly occurs in women with diabetes mellitus. It also occurs in women who are taking oral contraceptives. Pregnant women and individuals who are taking post-antibiotic therapy are prone to this infection.  Common symptoms include itching in the infected region and micturition.
