Introduction: The term “tissue” is derived from the French word “tissu”, which means something that is “woven”. Tissues are the characteristic feature of both plants and animals. In humans, there are trillions of cells. The cells that perform similar functions and having similar properties are grouped together to form tissues.

Introduction: The term “tissue” is derived from the French word “tissu”, which means something that is “woven”. Tissues are the characteristic feature of both plants and animals. The study of tissues is known as histology. A person who is involved in histological studies is known as a histologist. Histologists can identify four basic types of tissues, namely epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue.
