Introduction:
Exocrine glands are divided by the nature of their secretions as serous glands, mucous glands, or mixed glands. Serous glands synthesize and discharge a nonviscous, watery fluid like sweat, tear milk. Mucous glands discharge mucin that forms mucus mixed with water. Mixed glands contain both serous and mucous cells and produce a mixture of the two types of secretions.
