Explanation of Solution
Sodium − Natrium (Na):
The latin name of sodium is natrium and is derived from nitron(a name for sodium carbonate) which is a Greek word. The nitron actually originates from the Arabic word natrum. So, because of the name Natrium the symbol Na came.
Potassium − Kalium (K):
The latin name of potassium is kalium, which is derived from al qaliy (arabic word). Al qaliy means the leftover ashes when the plant material is burnt also called as calcined ashes. So, the name Kalium is the reason behind where the symbol K came.
Copper − Cuprum (Cu):
The latin name of copper is cyprium, which is derived from Greek name Kypros(cyprus). Cyprus is an island which is famous for the copper reserves. So, the symbol Cu came because of name cuprum.
Silver − Argentum (Ag):
The latin name of silver is argentums and only because of this name the symbol Ag came into being.

The SI units are unknown to them. Expeditions sent to the island revealed that they created their own system of units, and some of their findings are summarized in Tables 1 and 2. To help the Paradisians advance technologically, people from the outside are planning to construct a power plant on the island. The plant produces an average of 875.9 gigawatts (GW) of power. A. Calculate the average power rating of the plant in Arlert (R). (1 W = 1 kg.m²/s³) B. Calculate the energy produced by the plant in 5.400 x 104 s of operation. Express the result in Yeager (Y). (1 J = 1 W-s = 1 kg.m²/s²) (Note: Power = energy/time) C. How many households can be powered by the plant after 5.400 x 104 s of operation if each house consumes 1.50 x 1011 Y of energy?arrow_forward
- In the 1930s, the biologist Max Kleiber studied animals' metabolic rates. He 3 4 1 expressed the ratio of the rates for two animals by the relation where "1 %3D m1 and 2 are the animals' metabolic rates and m1 and m2 are the animals' masses. a) Compare the metabolic rates of a 70-kg man and a 15-kg dog. b) Compare the metabolic rates of a 5-kg cat with that of a 50-g mouse. c) Compare the metabolic rates of a 10-g hummingbird and a 5000-kg elephant.arrow_forwardHi Please Help me answer this with complete solution thank you very mucharrow_forwardHi Please Help me answer this with complete solution thank you very mucharrow_forward
