Concept introduction: Reproduction in which the union of gametes does not take place is known as asexual reproduction. All the plants propagated by this method are identical in genetic respect. Roots of banana leaves are prone to disease of roots known as panama disease. This is fungal disease caused by a fungal pathogen known as Fusarium oxysporum; this pathogen is resistant to various fungicides.
