Chapter 38, Problem 4IQ
Summary Introduction
To identify: The reason why flowering is delayed for some time after germination.
Introduction: Germination is a mechanism of seed growth in new plants, for example, sprouting of a seed. Initially, environmental conditions like water, temperature, oxygen, and sunlight induce the seed to grow. If water is adequate, the seed fills with excess water, which is known as imbibition. Water activates enzymes to start the process of seed growth.
