Chapter 38, Problem 13TYK
Summary Introduction
Introduction: Coevolution is defined as the evolution of certain reciprocal adaptations among the interacting species. For example, the natural selection sometimes favors traits which increase the flower-pollinator mutualism. In flower-pollinator mutualism, the nectar is provided by flowers to specific insects and the insects effectively pick up the pollen and then transfers the pollen to other plants.

- One of the most striking examples of coevolution is between insects and flowers. The earliest angiosperms produced large amounts of pollen on flowers that were wind-pollinated. The ovules were partially exposed and exuded tiny droplets of sugary sap to catch passing pollen.
