Introduction:
The alimentary canal is a long tube that forms different structures along the length which have different functions. The anterior end, i.e, the first section consists of the esophagus, pharynx, salivary gland, and mouth. The function of this section is the ingestion of food. The next section that is the middle section consists of digestive organs like the stomach, gizzard, and the crop. The function of this section is to initiate the digestion of food. The final that is the posterior part of this canal consists of the small intestine, large intestine and anus. The function of this section is the absorption and elimination of undigested wastes.
