Tograph:The given equations in the same coordinate plane and then estimate the coordinates of the point of intersection.

Explanation of Solution

Given information:The equations are $y=5x$ and $x+y=10$ .

Graph:

$y=5x$ ....... (1)	$x+y=10$ ...... (2)
In equation (1) The x intercept of the line is $\begin{array}{l}y=0\\ 0=5x\\ x=0\end{array}$ Therefore the line passes through origin $\left(0,0\right)$ .	In equation (2) The x intercept of the line is $\begin{array}{l}y=0\\ x+0=10\\ x=10\end{array}$ The y intercept of the line is $\begin{array}{l}x=0\\ 0+y=10\\ y=10\end{array}$

The graph of equations $y=5x$ and $x+y=10$ is given below

  

Interpretation:

From the graph it can be estimated that the x coordinate of the solution is 1.66 and the y coordinate is −8.33.

Hence the point of intersection of the 2 lines is $\left(1.66,8.33\right)$ .
