Why is oxygen-rich blood depicted as red and oxygen-poor blood as blue?
Introduction:
Hemoglobin is the oxygen-carrying pigment and predominant protein present in the red blood cells. It forms an unstable, reversible bond with oxygen. When Hemoglobin in its oxygenated states it is bright red in color. In the reduced state, it is purple-blue in color.
