To explain: The reason why research on molecular mechanism of stomatal closure might be used in future agriculture.
Concept introduction: Guard cell in the plant leaves contains small opening structure called as stomata through which the water molecules escape. Excess water stored in the cells is allowed to escape through the stomata in the leaves. It controls the transfer of gaseous and water molecules during the transpiration.
