Summary Introduction

Ambulation is a technique of post-operative care. This technique assists the patient to get out of bed. It also helps the patient in engaging the activities of sitting, walking or standing as soon as possible followed by an operation. Many types of equipments and devices are used for transferring, lifting, and re-positioning the patients. Transfer chairs, gait belts, friction reducing sheets, powered full body lifts are some of the aids that are used in the ambulation process.
