Chapter 32.4, Problem 1C
Summary Introduction
To explain: The main derived chordate characters that are evident in a tunicate larva and in an adult tunicate.
Concept introduction: The tunicates are marine invertebrates and belong to the subphylum urochordata. They have an expanded body with a pharyngeal slits, and a muscular long tail. The long tail contains a notochord and a dorsal tubular nerve chord. Tunicates are filter feeding animals and trap their food by mucus secreted by cells of the endostyle.
