Chapter 31.8, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
Anthrax, caused by “Bacillus anthracis” is majorly observed in farm and domesticated animals. Anthrax is a “soil born bacterial disease” that leads to skin infections and in fatal cases, it may lead to death due to failure of the respiratory system. The spores of “Bacillus anthracis” can be ingested in humans by the consumption of animal materials. Evident expression of the disease can be observed in skin, intestine, and in the respiratory tract (through inhalation).

Draw a membrane with two transporters: a proton pump transporter that uses ATP to generate a proton gradient, and a second transporter that moves glucose by secondary active transport (cartoon-like is ok). It will be important to show protons moving in the correct direction, and that the transporter that is powered by secondary active transport is logically related to the proton pump.arrow_forward
