Concept introduction:
West Nile virus is responsible for causing West Nile fever disease. The disease is caused by the virus and transmitted with the aid of mosquito. The disease is commonly observed in “continental United States”. The cases related to WNV are commonly observed during the summer season. Presently, no vaccines are available for the treatment of WNV. WNV can be diagnosed by the presence of “WNV antibodies” present in the bloodstream. WNV is characterized by mild symptoms including fever, headache, and muscle pain.
