Introduction: A physical barrier that separates the inner cellular components from the surrounding extracellular fluids are referred to as the plasma membrane. All cells are surrounded by the plasma membrane which is composed of a phospholipid bilayer. It is selectively permeable and is involved in the movement of molecules in and out of the cell.
