Summary Introduction

Strep throat and pneumococcal pneumonia are considered as the major streptococcal infections. The streptococcal strains often isolated from the upper respiratory tract of the humans. The major species in the group of A Streptococci are Streptococcus pyogenes, which is often isolated from the upper respiratory tract of the humans. It can cause serious infections, if the defense mechanism of the host is week or extremely virulent strain is encountered. Streptococcus pneumoniae is the second major streptococcal pathogen of the human being. It can cause intrusive lung infections, as secondary infections to the other respiratory syndromes. It causes community-acquired infections like pneumonia, otitis media, and bacteremia.
