Your college roommate goes to his native place for the weekend, developed extreme illness, and he is diagnosed with meningitis (bacterial) at a hospital. As he was away, University officials are not aware of his condition. In this situation, how you protect yourself from meningitis? Should you inform to the university health officials?
Introduction:
Inflammation of the meninges (the membrane that protects the central nervous system) is referred to as meningitis. There are wide range of microbes that can cause meninges in humans. Infectious meningitis is the severe bacterial infection caused by the bacterium Neisseria meningitidis. The common signs and symptoms of meningitis include confusion, nausea, vomiting, disorientation drowsiness, poor appetite, sensitivity to light, seizure, and coma.
