What is meant by the term crossflow head?

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark
To determine

Define crossflow head.

Explanation of Solution

Crossflow head:

The placement of valve in the cylinder head plays an important role in determining the breathing efficiency. When the intake and exhaust valves are placed opposite to each other in a combustion chamber, an easy way is created from the intake port to exhaust port through the combustion chamber and is referred to as crossflow head design.

In crossflow head design, the flow enters and leaves the combustion chamber in opposite directions in the cylinder head.
