Introduction:

An abnormal position or structure of an organ at birth results in causing a defect in the prenatal development. These are referred to as birth defects or congenital anomaly. Teratology deals with the study of birth defects. In North America, the infant mortality is mostly caused by birth defects. About 6% of children (age of 2 years) are diagnosed with congenital anomalies.
