Interpretation:

The effect on protein synthesis when laboratory rats are fed all the amino acids except one of the essential ones and then fed the missing amino acid four hours later should be explained.

Concept introduction:

Essential amino acids are ten amino acids which cannot be synthesized in human body in enough quantity to make proteins. Lack of these proteins affect the biosynthesis of proteins.
