Introduction:
Growth of a plant is not limited, it occurs throughout the plant’s life. Plants have unspecialized, perpetually dividing tissues called meristems. Apical meristems control primary growth that occurs at the tips of roots and shoots. The primary growth produces new leaves and flowers.
Root apical meristems and shoot apical meristems are responsible for the primary growth of the plant.
