The female reproductive system is responsible for producing egg cells in the body, which gets fused with the sperm giving rise to an embryo. The endometrium lining of the uterus is present to provide nutrition to the growing embryo, however, when fertilization does not occur this lining falls out from the female body, which is marked as menstruation.
