Spironolactone is also aldosterone antagonist, which do not have the drug interaction with those that inhibit the hepatic cytochrome P450 3A4 enzymes as it is not metabolized by this enzyme. It is metabolized by different microsomal enzymes named monooxygenase in the liver.
