Polymerase chain reaction (PCR):

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a technique which is used for amplification of DNA strand by thermos aquaticus polymerase (Taq polymerase).

Taq polymerase is an enzyme which is used in the PCR reaction because it can withstand very high temperatures because PCR reaction involves different temperatures; denaturation temperature (950C), annealing temperature (550C) and extension temperature (720C).
