Summary Introduction

Antigenic proteins that can activate a huge fraction of T cells leading to enhanced and strong immune response are termed as superantigens. A large number of T cells triggered by superantigen leads to “inflammatory reactions” characterized by fever, vomiting, and mucus production. Severe combined immunodeficiency syndrome (SCID) comes under the category of genetic disorder governed by the inappropriate formation of T or B cells. “Human immunodeficiency virus” (HIV), causative agent of AIDS infects the host cells that show expression for CD4 protein.
